In the fall of 2006 Claudia Robertson Fowler’s dream became a reality with the unveiling of her home and clothing boutique, Haven. This dream was the logical next leap in her illustrious career in the styling business.
Claudia’s eye for design and style came at a young age when she used to put her own touches on clothes that she did not feel were spunky enough for her 7-year-old wardrobe.
“As a young girl, no matter what I was playing with my friends, I would create a "look" for that situation. Roller skating required a leotard, fluffy skirt, and the perfect hair accessory. The garage even had to be set up like a roller rink. I loved to dress in the unexpected. I would sport corduroy pants in the summer and swim trunks in the winter with a scarf and sweater. My favorite pants were a pair of Hawaiian print corduroys with huge flares. When that trend went away, I cut them off to micro short-short cutoffs.”
This passion for clothes led her to earn her degree in Fashion Merchandising from Louisiana Tech University. After a few years as a buyer for several major department stores, Claudia decided she wanted more creative control over the styles she represented and opened two boutiques in Louisiana, one that catered to fashion-forward women and another that carried stylish European lines for children.
Eight years later, Claudia moved to Nashville with her family and sold the two successful stores. Being in Nashville opened the door for her entrance into the world of styling – debuting her talents with Amy Grant’s Heart In Motion Album and tour. Other artists took notice of Grant’s success and updated style and began to line up for Claudia’s styling services. After more than 15 years as a stylist in the music business Claudia Fowler has worked with Martina McBride, Sara Evans, Trisha Yearwood, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Julie Roberts, Alan Jackson and many others.
The concept of Haven developed quite simply from Claudia's experience as a stylist. She wanted to bring together to one store what she enjoyed most about shopping coast to coast. This idea coupled with her desire to dip into the retail market again soon became the brainchild that exists today as Haven.
“One of the perks of being a stylist is shopping in a variety of boutiques that offer a mix of merchandise, customer service, design ideas, and other creative entities. The philosophy behind Haven was to blend the best of what I loved about these experiences into one inspiring boutique.”
Haven recently celebrated its one-year anniversary with an astounding response from the community. Franklin welcomed the new boutique and shoppers all over the country are quickly discovering the retail gem.
Claudia Fowler lives in Franklin with her husband, a Portfolio Manager, and their 11-year-old son. Claudia also has three daughters, ages 23, 25, and 27. Despite her busy home life, the fashionista is devoted to making every one of her customers and clients feel their best after visiting Haven – stop by and you can see for yourself.
